Affiliate Disclosure

Last updated: July 01, 2026

The short version

Some links on this site are “affiliate links.” If you click one and buy something, we may earn a small commission from the retailer. You pay exactly the same price you would have paid anyway. The commission comes from the retailer’s marketing budget — not from your pocket.

Affiliate income helps keep this site free to read, ad-light, and independent. It never changes what we recommend or what we write.

Our commitments — what affiliate links don’t do

An affiliate relationship does not change what we recommend or how we write about a product. Specifically:

We don’t rank by commission

We never recommend a product because it pays a higher commission rate. Commission size plays no role in our recommendations.

We say the same either way

Our review of a product is the same whether we earn a commission or not. We don’t soften criticism because we have a financial relationship.

We update when things change

If we recommend something and later find it’s not as good as we thought, we update the article and say so — even if that means losing commissions.

We’d tell a family member the same

We only link to products and services we would genuinely recommend to a family member with no financial interest in the outcome.

Programs we participate in

Seniors Mind is a participant in the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program, an affiliate advertising program designed to provide a means for sites to earn advertising fees by advertising and linking to Amazon.com. “Amazon,” “Amazon.com,” and the Amazon logo are trademarks of Amazon.com, Inc. or its affiliates.

We may also participate in other affiliate programs as the site grows. When we do, we will list them here. Current affiliate partners include:

  • Amazon Associates

How to tell if a link is an affiliate link

We disclose affiliate relationships in these ways:

  • A short notice near the top of any article that contains affiliate links — for example: “This guide contains affiliate links. If you buy through them, we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you.”
  • This general disclosure page, which applies to the whole site

If you are ever unsure whether a link is an affiliate link, assume it might be — and know that either way, we recommended it because we think it is genuinely worth your consideration, not because of the commission.

What we don’t do

  • We don’t accept payment for positive reviews. No brand can pay to have us write favorably about their product.
  • We don’t publish sponsored content without labeling it clearly as sponsored. If any content is sponsored, it will say “Sponsored” at the top.
  • We don’t sell your personal information to advertisers or affiliates. See our Privacy Policy for how we handle data.
  • We don’t add affiliate links to health content that could pressure a medical decision. We are careful not to let any financial interest influence guidance in areas like medications, medical devices, or health decisions where the stakes are high.

FTC compliance

This disclosure is provided to comply with the U.S. Federal Trade Commission’s guidelines concerning the use of endorsements and testimonials in advertising (16 CFR Part 255). The FTC requires that material connections between a brand and a content creator be clearly disclosed to readers. This page, along with per-article disclosures, constitutes that disclosure for Seniors Mind.
